Despite delays, 'Bridget Jones' sequel to move forward

It's been nearly eight years since the release of "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason," and rumors were swirling earlier this week that the proposed third film in the series may be in danger. However, the studio co-chairman said that despite script problems, the movie is still on the way, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film is tentatively titled "Bridget Jones' Baby" and is going to bring back all the stars of the first two including Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant. In fact, it was scheduled to begin production this month but those plans were scrapped once Grant raised some issues with the script. Working Title Films co-chair Tim Bevan assures the kinks are being worked out. "We are still working on the script hence the delay to the start of production, but the film is going ahead as planned," he said in a statement obtained by the publication. While the filming is delayed, fans of the first two movies can watch Zellweger in some of her other most memorable roles including "Cold Mountain" and "Jerry Maguire."
