Katy Perry concert movie in the works

Katy Perry is no stranger to the big screen. The songstress lent her voice to the 2011 animated movie "The Smurfs," and now it looks like she'll be heading back albeit in a different capacity. Paramount is supposedly talking to Perry about the possibility of a 3D concert movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The plans are still in the very early stages and the movie has no director attached to it yet. Still, sources close to the production hinted that both sides are very interested in making it work, and they certainly have good reason to. Concert movies have undergone somewhat of a resurgence as of late with titles such as "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" taking in big box office hauls. Perry would be a wise choice, according to the publication. Concert movies have resonated in particular with teenage girls and seeing as how they are one of the singer's largest fan groups, chances are the movie would attract quite a crowd. Until the deal is ironed out, people who enjoy concert movies can check out other titles including "Michael Jackson's This Is It" and "Glee: The Concert Movie."
