Liam Neeson scores big again with gritty action movie 'The Grey'

Liam Neeson has certainly done a lot to re-define his career over the last several years. Once the leading man of dramas including "Schindler's List" and "Michael Collins," the 59-year-old Ireland native has made a name for himself as an action movie star and audiences have been more than receptive. His latest offering, "The Grey" debuted at number one at the box office with a $20 million haul, MTV.com reports. The movie stars Neeson as part of an oil drilling team that finds itself stranded in the Alaskan wilderness after their plane crashes. The team soon realizes that they not only have to survive the harsh elements but also the prospect of wolves that prowl the region. "The Grey" is just the latest action movie to star the venerable actor. The impressive run got started with the surprise hit "Taken" and continued with the likes of "Unknown" and "The A-Team." According to the website, Neeson bested the Kate Beckinsale vehicle "Underworld Awakening," which finished in second with $12.5 million.
