'The Help' gains momentum after SAG Awards

Over the last several weeks, "The Artist" has emerged as the Oscar front-runner in a number of different categories. However, after Sunday night's Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, it may have a bit more competition. Deadline reports "The Help" took home wins in three coveted categories, setting up a showdown for the February 26 Academy Awards. A critical favorite, "The Help" took home wins in three of the ceremony's five acting categories. Viola Davis won the award for best actress, while Octavia Spencer also took home supporting actress honors. Perhaps most impressive, the film also won Outstanding Cast. The only other movies to pull of such a feat also won the Oscar for Best Picture. Despite the impressive performance at the SAG Awards, it may still be an uphill battle for "The Help" given that it doesn't have any writing or directing nomination, which are usually seen as a requirement for Best Picture winners. To get ready for the Academy Awards, movie buffs may want to watch some of the other nominated films including "Moneyball" and "Midnight in Paris."
