Jim Carrey's daughter auditions for 'American Idol'

Jim Carrey has been one of the premier comedic actors in Hollywood for nearly 20 years, but now another member of his family is getting her due praise. Jane Carrey, Jim's 24-year-old daughter, recently auditioned for the judges on "American Idol" and given the judges' reaction, she may be well on her way to making a name for herself, The Huffington Post reports. Carrey, who made it through to the next round due to her rendition of Bonnie Raitt's "Something to Talk About," discussed the challenges of growing up with such a famous father before taking to the stage. "The last name definitely helps and hurts, I feel like there's kind of this pressure to maybe be better, because if I make it somewhere, I run the risk of people saying 'Oh you only got there because of this,'" she said in a pre-recorded video, according to HuffPo. While Jane may be on her own path to stardom, her father is still as popular as ever.
