'Paranormal Activity 3' continues tradition of the franchise

The first two films in the "Paranormal Activity" franchise have been big hits in the horror movie crowd, so it's no surprise that "Paranormal Activity 3" followed suit. With a whole new set of terrors in store, the new release DVD hits shelves January 24. Set 18 years before the events of the first film, the movie follows Katie (Chloe Csengery) and Kristi (Jessica Tyler Brown), two young girls living with their mother Julie and her boyfriend Dennis (Chris Smith) Once Kristi  talking to an imaginary friend, a number of unexplainable things begin to happen around the home. The disturbances get worse and worse until eventually, the two girls are tormented by an unseen force. Dennis has set up cameras throughout the home which have also captured dark, shadowy figures moving throughout its halls that reveal just what they're dealing with. In horror movies the unknown is often much scarier than what audiences can see and understand. A number of excellent movies have explored the unknown including the thriller "The Ring" and the classic film "Poltergiest."
