Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt give emotional performances in '50/50'

Thanks to his roles in "Superbad" and "Knocked Up," Seth Rogen has earned a reputation as a purely comic actor. However, in "50/50" he teams up with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and the two each deliver dramatic turns without abandoning their comedic roots. The new release DVD hits shelves January 24. Things seem to be going pretty well for Adam Lerner (Gordon-Levitt). He has a good job and a girlfriend, but his life is turned upside when he discovers he has a rare form of cancer. As Adam begins treatment, his best friend Kyle (Rogen) is committed to keeping his spirits high, a task which proves to become increasingly difficult. Faced with his deteriorating health, a once-resilient Adam begins to lose his composure and after he is told by doctors that his body is not responding to chemotherapy, he has to assess what really matters to him. Comedy-dramas tend to be some of the most emotionally-captivating movies, and "50/50" is no different. Some of the best such films in recent memory are "Sideways" and "Garden State."
