Charlie Kaufman to direct a musical

Charlie Kaufman has been one of the most unique directors in Hollywood over the last decade and it looks like he's going to continue the trend for his next feature. The director recently revealed that his next project, "Frank or Francis" will be a musical, according to Paste magazine. While the fact that the film would have some music is no surprise, what is shocking is that the movie will be musical numbers throughout its entire duration. Though it might be pushing the envelope, he certainly has assembled a talented cast to pull it off. Steve Carell and Jack Black are attached to the project as is Kevin Kline. He made the intriguing announcement during a speech at the 2011 BAFTA and BFI Screenwriters Lecture event, according to the publication. And he was a good choice for a speaker as his movies are often regarded as some of the most thought provoking in the industry. To check out some of his best work movie buff may want to watch "Adaptation," which earned Chris Cooper an Academy Award, "Being John Malkovich" or "Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind."
