HBO axes three series

Anybody who has watched HBO over the last few years should get ready for some big changes. The network recently announced the cancelation of three of it's more critically acclaimed comedy series, "Hung," "Bored to Death" and "How to Make it in America," Deadline reports. Though the trio of shows will not be seeing another season, one of the channel's new shows "Enlightened" got extended. The show was a favorite among critics who praised the performances of "Jurassic Park" star Laura Dern. The show's other star, Mike White, was very pleased to have it picked up. "I know HBO has had to make some hard decisions. I feel very lucky that they are letting us make more Enlightened," he told the website. "We will do our best to make something cool." While they may not be on screen anymore, fans of the departed shows can check them out through TV on DVD along with other HBO series including "Entourage," which came to a close this year and "Curb Your Enthusiasm."
