While he might be best known for his outrageous humor and hilarious movie roles, Russell Brand is gearing up to try something different. The British comedian has signed a deal with FX to bring a late-night show to the network, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Not many details are available about the show, but early reports say that it will be comprised of six half-hour specials. Brand will offer up his oft-unique take on everything ranging from pop culture to politics to current events.

Though there are no specifics, studio officials say that he will draw heavily on audience interaction and it will not operate like a talk show, the publication reports.

Regardless what the show ends up being, viewers will surely be treated to Brand's irascible sense of humor. Fans of his stand up routine will certainly want to check out his on-screen work in movies such as "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," the spin-off "Get Him to the Greek," and his take on the 1981 classic Dudley Moore comedy "Arthur," which hit theaters earlier this year.
