(We do not collect these names or emails!)Throughout its first six season "Bones" was one of the more popular crime dramas on television and although its ratings have tailed off as of late, the premiere of its seventh season was bolstered by an unlikely source. Last Thursday the series enjoyed 10 million viewers thanks in large part to its lead in - the hit reality competition show "X Factor," Entertainment Weekly reports.
The 9 p.m. debut was a significant 22 percent jump over last year's premiere, which was placed at the 8 p.m. slot. It's not surprising that the show benefited from the Simon Cowell-produced "X-Factor," as "Bones" also was helped out when its lead in was "American Idol."
The show, which stars Emily Deschanel as forensic anthropologist Temperance "Bones" Brennan and David Boreanaz as Seeley Booth, Bones' professional and romantic partner. The seventh season is expected to follow how they prepare to raise a child in an effort to accommodate Deschanel's real-life pregnancy.
In addition to changing up the plot as a result of Deschanel's pregnancy, the seventh season will also be only 17 episodes. Still, fans of the show can check out similar series thorugh TV on DVD including "House" and "CSI: Miami."
