Following in the footsteps of Louis C.K., another one of the most popular stand up comedians of the last several years has been rewarded with his own television show. NBC recently bought a single-camera comedy from Jim Gaffigan that he will both write and star in, Deadline reports.

The series will be somewhat autobiographical and will focus on a lazy man (Gaffigan) and his life living with his wife and four children. Not many other details are known including a name for the show or who will be in the supporting cast, but if it's anything like his stand up special, its sure to be a riot.

Although this is the first Gaffigan-penned comedy to hit the small screen, its certainly not his first foray into the sitcom world. In 2000 he was in the short-lived comedy "Welcome to New York," and also appeared in the series "My Boys," according to the website.

The family comedy will likely be well-received by fans of similar series such classic shows including "Married with Children" and "Everybody Loves Raymond."
