'Dumb and Dumber' sequel in the works

It's been 17 years since the comedy classic "Dumb and Dumber" hit theaters but it looks like Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels may be reuniting for a sequel. Directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly are trying to get the duo back and have hired Sean Anders and John Morris to write the script, Deadline reports. There has been no concrete word on whether Carrey and Daniels will be back. Their careers have both come a long way since the original film came out in 1994, but Carrey did hint earlier this year that he is open to the possibility of starring in the sequel, according to the news source. It would not be the first time that the original characters of Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne have been revisited, however. In 2003 a prequel, "Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd" hit theaters and was met with widespread criticism. While the future of the sequel remains to be seen, until then fans of the original can check out some other Jim Carrey classics including "Ace Venture: Pet Detective" and "Liar Liar."
