Ben Stiller set to direct upcoming horror movie

While he may be better known for his comedic roles, Ben Stiller is ready to take on a much different project. Stiller and business partner Stuart Cornfeld are on board to direct the upcoming horror movie "The Mountain," deadline reports. The story is a scary take on the novel Summer by Edith Wharton, and it's script was written by "Reality Bites" scribe Helen Childress. Few details are available about the plot but the website reports that it will take place in the early 1900s and will follow a woman who is forced to confront elements of her past after coming into contact with a mysterious object. This won't be the first time Childress and Stiller have worked together. "Reality Bites" was one of Stiller's earliest movie roles and the duo are planning an adaptation of the children's book The Snowy Day as well. With Halloween right around the corner, it will behoove movie fans to check out some classic movies including "The Exorcist," often regarded as one of the scariest movies of all time, and "Poltergeist."
