Even with salary deal, "The Simpsons" done after next season

Earlier this week it broke that the future of "The Simpsons" was in jeopardy, but it turns out that even if the actors and the studio can come to an agreement, its next season will be its last. The announcement solidifies an end to the show's unprecedented streak as the longest running sitcom in history, The Wrap reports. The six principle voice actors were asked to accept a significant pay cut for the next season, the show's 24th. If they don't, the show will end production after its current season. Either way, fans of the show will be without new episodes sometime in the near future. Although it may be sad news to the show's legions of fans, some believe the ending the series is the right move. While it was Fox's flagship show throughout the '90s, over the last 10 years it has become less popular, despite the fact it still takes in big money from syndication. The end of the "The Simpsons" may be on the horizon, that but that doest not mean viewers can't enjoy their favorite episodes for years thanks to TV on DVD.
