'Scream' writer Kevin Williamson penning serial killer pilot for Fox

Kevin Williamson made a name for himself by writing the classic horror movies "I Know What You Did Last Summer," and "Scream," and now he's taking his talents back to the small screen. Williamson has signed a deal with Fox to pen a serial killer drama for the network, Deadline reports. The show does not have a title as of yet and details are scarce, but those close to the situation say it will be about a serial killer who makes use of technology to forge a group of aspiring serial killers. Though Williamson has a history of writing horror movies, he is no stranger to television as well. He was the creator of the '90s classic "Dawson's Creek," and has also had a hand in adapting "The Vampire Diaries" to TV. Fans of the "Scream" series may want to check out similar campy horror movies that have turned into classics over the years. Among the best is "Friday the 13th" and the iconic '80s film "Nightmare on Elm Street."
