(We do not collect these names or emails!)Although the Emmys had a few surprises on Sunday night, the big winners were those who had been there before. "Mad Men" won its fourth consecutive statue or Outstanding Drama Series, while "Modern Family" won five awards including Outstanding Comedy Series for the second year in a row.
While the big winners did not shock anybody, there were a few pleasantly unexpected moments that stuck out. Kyle Chandler won the Emmy for best actor for his role as the likable coach Eric Taylor in "Friday Night Lights."
Also somewhat surprising was Melissa McCarthy's win for best actress in the CBS comedy "Mike and Molly." Many believed that Amy Poehler was poised for victory due to the success of "Parks and Recreation."
Additionally, someone most famous for their films scored an Emmy victory, too. Martin Scorsese got a best director nod for his work behind the camera on the HBO drama "Boardwalk Empire."
"I must say it is something I never dreamed of," Scorsese told Reuters. "It's a different medium, although we approach 'Boardwalk Empire' as a film, a very long film. It's just as exciting."
