Melissa McCarthy to appear in next Judd Apatow flick

Fresh off her scene-stealing role in the critical and commercial success "Bridesmaids," Melissa McCarthy is set to team up with director Judd Apatow once more. According to The Hollywood Reporter, McCarthy is attached to Apatow's next project, a spin-off on the hit comedy movie "Knocked Up." Both the plot and title of the film are being kept under wraps, but is expected to focus on characters played by Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann, who had supporting roles in the original. Additionally, McCarthy is expected to play the mother of a child who goes to school with Rudd and Mann's children. The cast will also include Megan Fox and Albert Brooks. As for McCarthy, she earned rave reviews for her performance in "Bridesmaids," which surpassed "Knocked Up" as Apatow's all-time highest grossing films. She also stars in the hit CBS comedy series "Mike and Molly."
