When it comes to horror movies, often the unknown is more frightening than what's right in front of the audiences' face. Such is the case with "Insidious," which explores the supernatural in an unusual, and truly unnerving way. The thrilling new release DVD hits shelves July 12.

Renai (Rose Byrne) and Josh (Patrick Wilson) recently moved into a new house with their three children, but it is not long before their son Dalton begins to notice something is not right. After investigating a mysterious noise in the attic, Dalton falls into an unexplained coma and Renai believes their house is haunted.

Even after the family moves, strange things continue to happen, and with no other recourse, the couple calls in the help of a paranormal expert. What they find is shocking and may change the course of their lives forever.

Horror movie fans looking to watch a supernatural thriller may want to check out classic movies such as "The Omen" and "Carrie."
