Although it may not have done as well in the Box Office as most may have hoped, "Green Lantern" has just been given the go-ahead for a sequel.

According to MovieFone, the Ryan Reynolds flick is still struggling to break even with its $200 million budget, but it appears as though Warner Brothers executives continue to see potential. The movie has not been performing that well in theaters, as it dropped 66 percent in viewership for its second week.

The news provider reports that Reynolds, known for his role in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," may be the reason that executives are willing to invest more money into the franchise, as he has been known to be a Box Office Draw.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, there have been several superhero franchises that have not met studio expectations but still go on to release sequels, such as the "Hulk" series. Warner Brothers is also reportedly preparing for the end of its "Harry Potter" franchise, as the final installment is set to arrive on July 15.

As of right now, there is no release date or any mention of other actors who will be involved in the sequel.
