Michael Cera to guest star on 'The Simpsons'

Guest stars are nothing new on “The Simpsons,” but it appears like they have at least one already lined up for an episode next season. Entertainment Weekly reports Michael Cera will be lending his voice to the venerable animated show as a potential love interest for Lisa. Not many details are known about the plot of the episode, titled “The Daughter Also Rises,” except that Cera’s character exhibits an intellect uncommon of other boys from Springfield, something which attracts Lisa. Executive producer Al Jean revealed a few specifics about the episode, saying Cera’s character “talks a good game. [But] she [Lisa] starts to realize that he’s less than expected.” When “The Simpsons” premiers next fall it will be embarking on its 23rd season, making it the longest-running American animated program as well as the longest-running prime time entertainment series.
