As expected, Nintendo grabbed a lot of attention when the company held its press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) earlier this week, and for good reason. According to Paste magazine, the venerable video game developers unveiled a number of new products, highlighted by the follow-up to the wildly popular Nintendo Wii.

Titled the Wii U, the new console will include a number of impressive features. Perhaps most striking, however, is the controller. The Wii U controller has two analog circles, a D-pad, standard buttons as well as a touch panel display screen in the center. The screen will allow for much more versatility and players can even do away with TVs if they so choose.

The news source reports that Nintendo did not announce many new games for the Wii U, but the ones they did will certainly be big hits. Most notably, the company revealed it will release a new version of the classic "Super Smash Brothers" that will be available for the 3DS as well.

Gamers who can't wait until the release of the new console can still get plenty of excitement out of some new Nintendo Wii games. Titles such as "Assassin's Creed" and "Madden '11" are among the best out there.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl : Wii
