The upcoming "Superman" reboot has yet another addition to its fast-growing cast list. German actress Antje Traue has joined the Zack Snyder-directed project as the villain Faore, NME reports. The character will be an ally of General Zod, the main antagonist, played by Michael Shannon.

Traue is perhaps best known for her breakout role in the 2009 science fiction thriller "Pandorum," where she starred alongside Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster. She is also slated to appear in the upcoming historical drama "5 Days in August," which chronicles the recent conflict between Georgia and Russia.

In signing on to the tentatively titled "Man of Steel," Traue is joining an impressive ensemble. Henry Cavill is cast as Superman, and two-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams has been tapped to play Lois Lane. Kevin Costner and "Unfaithful" actress Diane Lane are also involved as they are set to play Superman's parents on Earth.

The movie is expected to be released in 2012. It's just the latest in a long line of superhero movies featuring Superman. The most recent, "Superman Returns" starred Brandon Routh and Kate Bosworth.
