'American Reunion' set to start filming in May

It's been more than eight years since the original cast of the "American Pie" films appeared together on the big screen, but it looks as though the stars of those beloved classic movies will soon be lending their comedic talents to a project once again. Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott and Eugene Levy have already signed on to star in "American Reunion," The Wrap reports, and Universal is negations with the rest of the crew. The "American Pie" franchise has been put on hold since the early 2000s, when the trilogy ended in 2003 with "American Wedding." Since then, much of the original cast has gone on to complete other projects and straight to DVD movies as well. The next installment of the franchise is set for a late May shoot. Among the actors Universal is reportedly attempting to coax into reprising their role is Alyson Hannigan, who currently stars on CBS' "How I Met Your Mother," and Mena Suvari, who recently wrapped up shooting "You May Not Kiss the Bride," a romantic comedy which also stars Kathy Bates. According to the news source, the original three titles were some of the highest grossing movies in recent memory.
