The release of "Batman: Arkham City," the much anticipated follow-up to the acclaimed video game "Batman: Arkham Asylum," is still months away, but gamers are already getting ready for its release. A recent teaser trailer showcased some of the title's most impressive features, and IGN.com delved into how it differs from its predecessor.

The game story takes place a year after the first release, and transports players into a chaotic Gotham City that has turned its slums into prisons. Batman has to break into the newly formed lock-up to save Catwoman from being executed by Two-Face. The world is much larger than the previous game, and gives players the opportunity to engage in numerous missions.

According to the news source, the game's developer has said that it has made several improvements since the last title, including better combat, new gadgets and the ability to take helicopter rides.

The story, which is expected to be much darker than the first game, will likely appeal to players who have taken a liking to "Mass Effect" and "Prince of Persia."
