Jeff Bridges tapped to play exorcist in upcoming movie

From the ruthless businessman Obadiah Stane he portrayed in "Iron Man" to his turn as a loveable slacker in the cult classic "The Big Lebowski," Jeff Bridges certainly has worn many different hats throughout his career. Now, he appears poised to add another title to that list - exorcist. JustJared.com reports that the Best Actor nominee has been tapped to play the role in the upcoming film "The Seventh Son." An exorcist is certainly a far cry from the troubled country singer Bad Blake, which Bridges portrayed and won an Oscar for in "Crazy Heart," but it's likely moviegoers remain confident in the actor's abilities. The film is still in its early stages, but reports are surfacing that producers are scouting an impressive cast, including Alex Pettyfer, who stars in the upcoming thriller "I Am Number Four", and Jennifer Lawrence, who was featured in the critically acclaimed film "Winter's Bone." According to the news source, the film is set in the 1700s and follows the path of a man, expected to be portrayed by Pettyfer, training to be an exorcist. The movie has been in talks for quite sometime, and was originally called "The Spook's Apprentice,"and is a retelling of the young adult series "The Last Apprentice."
