Joseph Gordon-Levitt may be in talks to join cast of "The Dark Knight Rises"

Joseph Gordon-Levitt may have achieved notoriety these past few years for his work on indie films - he recently starred in "(500) Days of Summer" and earned raves for his work in the beloved gem "Brick" - but it looks as though the actor is getting ready to join a big studio project. According to Deadline.com, Gordon-Levitt is in talks to join the cast of "The Dark Knight Rises," the next Christopher Nolan installment of the "Batman" franchise. No word was given about the role the young actor may play, but it appears as though he will be joining a long list of esteemed performers. It was recently announced that Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle, otherwise known as Catwoman, and Tom Hardy is set to play the villain Bane. Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy recently appeared together in Nolan's box office smash hit "Inception." The film is currently up for an Academy Award for Best Picture of 2010.
