'Conviction' a thrilling drama

Most people can agree that Hilary Swank is a wonderful actress - the woman has two Oscars in her possession for "Boys Don't Cry" and "Million Dollar Baby" - and she seems to give her all for each one of her performances. Her talents are on display once again in "Conviction," a drama slated for release February 1. Swank stars in this true-life tale as Betty Ann Waters, a woman whose younger brother, Kenneth (Sam Rockwell) is sent to jail for life. Determined to exonerate him, the high school dropout puts herself through law school and works to free her sibling. Directed by Tony Goldwyn, "Conviction" also stars Melissa Leo, Minnie Driver, Peter Gallagher and Clea DuVall. Swank's career seems to show no sign of slowing down. The actress is set to appear in "The Resident," a horror thriller with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and is currently filming "New Year's Eve," a romantic comedy that will feature an all-star cast.
