Anne Hathaway to play Catwoman in 'The Dark Knight Rises'

The casting for the upcoming "Batman" flick, "The Dark Night Rises," just took an exciting turn - Anne Hathaway is set to join the project as Catwoman. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the "Rachel Getting Married" star beat out a number of esteemed actresses to suit up as the character, including Keira Knightley and Jessica Biel. Warner Brothers Studio also took the time to announce that "Inception" actor Tom Hardy will be playing the part of Bane in the superhero flick. "I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman's most formidable enemies," director Christopher Nolan said in a statement to the press. "The Dark Night Rises" is slated for release in 2012 and will once again star Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne. Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine have all been cast in the project as well.
