It's been more than 50 years since Disney's "Peter Pan" charmed audiences, and yet Tinker Bell continues to woo the world. The tiny fairy is front and center once again in "Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue," the sequel to the beloved 2009 animated film "Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure."

The story takes place before the mythical pixie met Wendy and the Lost Boys. This was when Tinker Bell (Mae Whitman) encounters nine-year-old Lizzy Griffins (Lauren Mote), and accidentally gets trapped in the girl's fairy house.

Although Tinker Bell is being held captive, she begins to form a special bond with the child. However, it isn't long before Lizzy's father discovers the fairy's existence and decides he has other plans for her.

While Whitman does a commendable job voicing the title character, the young actress also shines when she's in front of the camera. In fact, she recently appeared in the romantic drama "Nights in Rodanthe" and was most recently cast in the much-adored adventure-comedy "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World."
