It looks like Mekhi Phifer may be in need of another regular television gig. According to Entertainment Weekly, the former "ER" actor will be leaving Fox's hit show "Lie to Me."

"Lightman [Tim Roth] is going to act slightly in the more old-school PI model of a TV protagonist, [so] we're doing away with the FBI contract [and] Mekhi is unfortunately no longer going to be on the show," executive producer David Graziano told the news outlet.

"Lie to Me" tells the story of Dr Cal Lightman (Tim Roth), a behavioral specialist who is skilled at reading body language and signs that predict if a criminal is lying. The expert winds up helping the FBI, police and citizens, and often finds himself in exciting and intense situations.

Phifer played Ben Reynolds, an FBI agent assigned to Lightman's cases.

Moviegoers may be wondering if Phifer will now be lending his talents once again to the big screen, as the performer has appeared in the beloved dramas "8 Mile" and "Honey."ADNFCR-2673-ID-19935554-ADNFCR
