(We do not collect these names or emails!)The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards took place last night, and it's safe to say it was a success. Hosted by Jimmy Fallon, the evening was jam-packed with both surprising and anticipated wins.
AMC's hit drama "Mad Men" took home the award for Outstanding Drama for the third year in a row, beating out fan-favorites "Breaking Bad" and "Dexter." However, freshman series "Modern Family" was awarded the statuette for Outstanding Comedy, edging out past winners "30 Rock" and "The Office."
Kyra Sedgwick was bestowed top honors for Outstanding Actress in a Drama for her work in "The Closer," while Bryan Cranston earned the Outstanding Actor in a Drama accolade for "Breaking Bad." Both performers have taken home an Emmy before.
Also, Edie Falco of "Nurse Jackie" was victorious in the Outstanding Actress in a Comedy category, while Jim Parsons from "The Big Bang Theory" triumphed over his competitors and earned Outstanding Actor in a Comedy.
Also garnering praise was Fallon, whose shenanigans and antics helped turn the ceremony into one of the television highlights of the year. In fact, the show was watched by 13.5 million people, making it the most-viewed non-sports program in 2010 since the "American Idol" finale aired, according to Entertainment Weekly.
