The finale to "Friends" aired years ago, but it looks like the hit comedy is still fresh in Courteney Cox's mind. The actress, who played the outrageous but lovable Monica Geller on the series, spoke with Emmy Magazine about not receiving a Primetime Emmy nomination during the show's tenure.

"There were certain years I thought, 'Maybe I have a shot,' like the Monica-Chandler years. But I don't know how it happens and why...maybe I wasn't ready," she told the news outlet.

All of Cox's former castmates were nominated for the award, with Lisa Kudrow and Jennifer Aniston taking the statuette home in 1998 and 2002, respectively.

No matter what, Cox's career has remained strong over the years. The actress has appeared in countless screen projects, including the entire "Scream" franchise.

The talented performer's television career has been revitalized this past year as well, as she currently stars in the hit show "Cougar Town." Cox was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her performance on the show last year. ADNFCR-2673-ID-19927393-ADNFCR
