Is Amy Adams set to play Janis Joplin?

A film about the life and career of Janis Joplin has been in the making for a while now, with several celebrities rumored to be in consideration for the leading role. Starlets ranging from Zooey Deschanel to pop singer Pink have supposedly been offered the much-coveted part. Now, Entertainment Weekly reports that it's Amy Adams who will fill the shoes of the iconic singer. The Academy Award nominee will likely join "City of God" director Fernando Meirelles for the project, currently titled "Get it While You Can." While the reports could be just conjecture, those who adore the talented actress may enjoy some of her most beloved films. Adams first appeared on the public radar when she played a pregnant southern belle named Ashley in "Junebug." The film, which revolves around an East Coast art dealer who travels to the south, garnered several Oscar nominations, including Best Supporting Actress for Adams. Of course, both children and adults fell in love with Adams after her portrayal of Giselle in "Enchanted." The movie is a modern day fairy tale set in the hubbub of Manhattan.
