America Ferrera shines in "Our Family Wedding"

While America Ferrera is best known for portraying the beautiful Betty Suarez in "Ugly Betty," the talented actress shines on screen as well. Her recent romantic comedy, "Our Family Wedding," is due to be released on DVD July 13. Ferrera stars as Lucia Ramirez, a woman who engaged to Marcus Boyd (Lance Gross). The couple is excited to begin their wedding planning, but when they announce their marital intentions, their families immediately become involved. Lucia and Marcus' engagement becomes even more strained when their dads, Miguel (Carlos Mencina) and Brad (Forest Whitaker) start butting heads. Before long the two culturally-different parents are making a complete mess of the impending special day. "Our Family Wedding" isn't Ferrera's first appearance in a feature-length film. In fact, after appearing on the public's radar after her performance in "Real Women Have Curves," she also starred in "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" as well as "Lords of Dogtown." More recently, Ferrera lent her voice to the popular animated hit "How to Train Your Dragon."
