Judd Apatow set to direct new Pee-wee Herman movie

Pee-wee Herman made a splash on the big and small screens years ago, but it looks like the hilarious man-child is about to make a comeback. According to Variety, another Pee-wee Herman film is in the works, and is set to be directed by Judd Apatow. "I am so excited to be working with Paul Reubens - who is an extraordinary and ground-breaking actor and writer," Apatow told the news source. "It's so great to watch him return with such relevance." Reuben first debuted his infamous character on stage when he performed with The Groundlings, an improvisational comedy troupe in Los Angeles. Soon after that he starred in "The Pee-wee Herman Show," which was followed by his big screen phenomenon, "Pee-wee's Big Adventure." Apatow's career has skyrocketed during the last few years. His films, which include "Knocked Up" and "Superbad," are already considered modern comedy classics. It looks like the director is excited to begin his next project. "Let's face it, the world needs more Pee-wee Herman," Apatow told the news outlet.
