Andrew Garfield announced as the new Spider-Man

A fresh-faced actor is about to step into Peter Parker's shoes. According to CinemaBlend.com, the coveted title role of the fourth "Spider-Man" movie has been awarded to actor Andrew Garfield. The film, which will be directed by "500 Days of Summer" director Marc Webb, is expected to be released in theaters in 2012. "Though his name may be new to many, those who know this young actor's work understand his extraordinary talents. He has a rare combination of intelligence, wit, and humanity. Mark my words, you will love Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker," Webb said in a statement to the press. While Garfield may not have as much star-quality as McGuire did when he starred in the original 2002 film, moviegoers can rest assured that he is adept at playing the role. In fact, the young actor starred alongside Johnny Depp and Heath Ledger in "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus," and also played one of the main characters in the epic British "Red Riding" crime trilogy.
