Movie trends of the moment indicate that vampire stories are immortal.

The film rights to Christopher Farnsworth's "Blood Oath" have been picked up by Warp Films, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The story blends intriguing history with a thrilling tale about the mythical blood-thirsty creatures.

"Blood Oath" tells the story of a vampire named Nathaniel Cade, who is captured by the government soon after the Civil War. The tale then fast-forwards to modern times, when he is assigned a new human handler and becomes embroiled in a plot to use a dangerous biological weapon.

It looks like the tale is bound to be a hit, as the book was just released this week.

"It always starts with the character for me," Lucas Foster, President or Warp Films, told the news source. "Cade has an amazing history, a great attitude and a great set of powers. He is a complete movie figure."

Foster previously produced "Law Abiding Citizen" and "Mr. and Mrs. Smith."ADNFCR-2673-ID-19788288-ADNFCR
