"Monsters, Inc. 2" gets a release date

Fans of Pixar can rejoice. The studio has announced that their planned sequel to "Monsters, Inc." now has an official release date. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film's producers are hoping to have the computer animated movie in theaters just in time for the holiday season in two years. The projected release date for "Monsters, Inc. 2" is November 16, 2012. So far Pixar has only created a sequel for its debut film, "Toy Story." The highly-successful "Toy Story 2" was released in 1999 and took home over $480 million worldwide at the box office. The adventures of Woody and Buzz Lightyear will be making their way to the big screen again, as "Toy Story 3" will be in theaters this June. It's no surprise that a second installment of "Monsters, Inc." came to fruition. The film, which tells the story of a young girl named Boo who crosses over into the scary but exciting monster world, grossed over $500 million worldwide at the box office.
