"The Blind Side" stars Academy Award-winning actress Sandra Bullock

"The Blind Side" will be released on DVD Tuesday, March 23, and the timing couldn't be better. The disc will be hitting shelves just weeks after Sandra Bullock nabbed a Best Actress Oscar for her performance in the film. "The Blind Side" is based on the true story of Michael Oher, an offensive lineman who plays for the Baltimore Ravens of the NFL. The film chronicles his journey from an impoverished youth to living with a well-to-do family to a professional football player. Bullock steps into the role of Leigh Anne Tuohy, a tough-as-nails woman who strives to find new opportunities for Oher. After Leigh Anne signs Michael up for football, he begins to realize his talent for the sport. Aside from an Academy Award, Bullock has also garnered a number of accolades for her performance in "The Blind Side." However, the actress isn't immune to criticism. She also "won" a Worst Actress Razzie this year for her work in "All About Steve." Bullock currently has some interesting projects planned. She is reportedly about to take on roles in films titled "One of the Guys" and "The Sprinkler Queen." Her recent film, "The Proposal," was a box-office hit.
