Oliver Stone directs a sequel to "Wall Street"

Fans of "Wall Street," one of director Oliver Stone's most famous films, will be glad to hear that the director has signed on to helm a sequel, which will be called "Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps." The original film was made in 1987, when America was in a pretty comfortable place economically. It will be interesting to see how the recession affects the tone of the new film. Michael Douglas earned an Oscar for his performance in "Wall Street." His character Gordon Gekko lived by the mantra "greed is good." Stone told the Sunday Morning Herald "The individual Gekko would no longer exist in this new Wall Street." The news source reports that Douglas will reprise his role in the sequel, as will Charlie Sheen who starred as Bud Fox, a young stockbroker eager to make it, in the original film. Shia LaBeouf of "Eagle Eye" and "Transformers" will also appear in the movie as Jacob Moore, and Josh Brolin of "W" will play the role of Bretton James. The film should be released sometime in 2010.
