Miley Cyrus will star in "The Last Song"

Fans of Miley Cyrus made "Hannah Montana: The Movie" a success earlier this year, but Hannah fans can see their favorite songstress on the big screen again. This time Cyrus will be appearing in "The Last Song," a romance based on a novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks. In the coming-of-age story, Cyrus plays Ronnie, a 17-year-old girl who reconnects with her estranged father, Steve, during her summer spent in Georgia. Steve is played by Greg Kinnear. Ronnie's mother sends her south in an attempt to tame the wild girl, but when the teen first arrives in the small town, she is full of anger. However, when she falls for Will Blakelee, a local boy, she begins to open up to the world around her. Sparks reportedly wrote the screenplay for the film before finishing the novel. Other movies based on his work include "The Notebook" and "A Walk to Remember." "The Last Song" should hit theaters in April of 2010.
